Sugar cane is a kind of grass which is filled with a sugar rich fibrous spongy tissue. Sugar can grows tropically. The cane is pressed, the juice condensed and filtered. Brown sugars like the Demera sugar are derived from sugar cane. Rum is made from sugar cane. The leftovers of the sugar extraction is called molasses.
